Computing Resolution for Neuromagnetic Imaging Systems
ثبت نشده
چکیده
This paper proposes a novel signal-detection-theory-based definition for the resolution of Neuromagnetic imaging systems, and develops a Monte Carlo computer simulation method to compute the resolution. Using the resolution as a performance measure, the performance of various types of sensor hardware is assessed. The assessments include performance improvements due to the increase in the number of sensors and performance changes due to the change in the gradiometer baseline or change in the helmet size. We compare the performance difference between planar and axial gradiometer arrays, and also compare the performance between the conventional radial sensor array and a vector sensor array. We compute the resolution of two existing Neuromagnetic sensor arrays, MEGvisionTM (Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) and Elekta-Neuromag TRIUXTM (Elekta Corporate, Stockholm, Sweden).

Electro-Optical Design of Imaging Payload for a Remote Sensing Satellite
Remote sensing using small spacecraft arising from multi-objective economic activity problems is getting more and more developed. These satellites require very accurate pointing to specific locations of interest, with high reliability and small latency. The space borne imaging systems always attempted to achieve the highest ground resolution possible with the available technology at the given t...
متن کاملThe effect of earth magnetic field on the function of nuclear medicine imaging systems (SPECT)
Background: The nuclear medicine systems are very sensitive to the variation of the magnetic field. Photomultiplier tubes amplify low energy light signal and change it into electrical current. Low magnetic field can produce some variations in uniformity and special resolution of SPECT systems. In this study, we tried to evaluate the effects of magnetic field on the function of nuclear medic...

Background & Aims: Spatial resolution is one of the important features of evaluating the function of nuclear medicine imaging systems. The aim of this study was evaluating the capability of the spatial resolution in images of nuclear medicine planar by calculating the modulation transfer function (MTF). Materials & Methods: Nuclear medicine imaging of capillary tube with activity 1 mCi was per...
متن کاملA Multi - Modal Approach to Functional Neuroimaging
The work undertaken involves the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) as separate but complementary non-invasive functional brain imaging modalities. The aim in combining fMRI and MEG is centred around exploitation of the high temporal resolution available in MEG, and the high spatial resolution available in fMRI. However, whilst MEG represents a ...
متن کاملInvestigating the capability of plastic scintillation detectors in design of a muon radiography system by Geant4 code
Imaging and identifying materials with high atomic numbers and densities, especially radioactive materials, is one of the issues that have been especially considered in recent years. Due to some limitations in conventional and old imaging techniques, finding an alternative method is very important. The cosmic muons with an infinite source are one of the sources that have been recently studied f...
